Many Native Americans revered the Blue Buffalo, often spotted traveling within the huge fast-moving herd, as a symbol of survival and faith.
The legend began during a violent thunderstorm on a cold night in October, 1818, when a young bull was struck by lightning. Because his large body acted as a conductor, he managed to survive the strike. As the young buffalo recovered over many months, his hide and hair slowly became blue.
Blue is a primary color across all models of color space. It is the color of the ocean and the sky. It often symbolizes serenity, stability, inspiration, wisdom or health. It can be a calming color, and symbolize reliability.
